✨ BACK TO THE ROOTS: Bachata & Brazilian Zouk Fusion Intensive ✨ Join us for a special afternoon dedicated to exploring the relationship between Bachata and Brazilian Zouk through the lens of movement, connection, musicality, and cultural respect. Featuring guest instructors Fran’chesco “Chesco” Lev’ratto (Washington, DC, founder of BachaZouk), Jessica “DjTay” Taylor (FTLOB, bachata educator, expert in the culture and history of bachata), and Wendy Guo (certified instructor in sensual, fusion, and traditional bachata), this workshop series is designed to help dancers understand how fusion can be thoughtfully incorporated into bachata while honoring the dance’s roots, identity, and essence. Rather than simply borrowing movements from another dance, we’ll explore the underlying techniques and principles that connect Bachata and Brazilian Zouk, giving you tools to expand your movement vocabulary while staying grounded in the bachata we already know and love. Throughout the afternoon, we’ll cover: • Movement concepts shared between Bachata and Brazilian Zouk • Connection and body mechanics • Musicality and interpretation • Social dance applications • How fusion can enhance—not replace—traditional bachata expression Each workshop builds upon the previous one, creating a cohesive learning experience from start to finish. We strongly encourage attending the full intensive to get the most out of the material, though individual workshop drop-ins will also be available at the door.
