BAE: Sonic Alchemy (A Recalibration) with Reem Abdou

This is an experience of the healing power of sound. Resident sonic alchemist Reem Abdou (aka dreeemy), founder of the feminine movement BAE, will facilitate a deeply meditative experience that invite listeners to listen deeply, and in that listening, hold a space for personal understanding, rejuvenation, and transformation. Using practices like insight meditation and breathwork, together we'll explore the way in which sound, movement, and intention can alchemize the inner and outer spaces we inhabit. We nourish the true artist and the listener inside each of us who yearns to create from a balanced and intentional space. We cultivate the capacity to contribute positively to our own selves, the art we create, our community, and our shared planet.Brain & body studies tell us that certain sonic frequencies (binaural, harmonic, cymatic) & particular physical shapes have the capacity to "tune" us, to clear that which does not support, and to fortify that which does. Our work together is to harness this tuning potential to create alchemical space for meditation, embodiment, and activation of our unique highest potential. We begin this three-layered process in MEDITATION, just tuning our systems to our environment. dreeemy will guide us into total presence. Then, we invite listeners to engage with sound deeply in a process of EMBODIMENT. Using field recordings and ancient tuning instruments, we embark on an alchemical journey. High-vibrational frequencies provide the soundtrack to simple yet potently restorative yogic stretches that can be done seated or lying down. This is the process of recalibrating the subtle bodies to reveal that which is vital. Finally, we've laid the foundation for ACTIVATION: opening up internal and external space for setting intentions that align deeply with the discoveries of our selves. As a yoga educator, conscious community catalyst, poet, and DJ and musician (also known as dreeemy), she synthesizes mediums, drawn especially from her Ancient Egyptian heritage and Tibetan Buddhist training, to offer an intentional experience of harmonic resonance and reconnection with the Earth and the Universe it orbits inside. The creator and main producer of The Collective BAE, Reem initiated this activation of yin/feminine energy in response to the need for more places and spaces that fused her lifelong explorations of human expression and embodiment.
