*Mambo: A dance genre that emerged from Oreste Lopéz's danzón "Mambo," in which the bass is used in a syncopated manner in its third part. This way, he imposed a style that adopted that name.
*Cha-cha-chá: It was the name given to a danzón of the new rhythm. Its name comes from the characteristic sound produced by the feet while moving during the dance. It was one of the star rhythms of Cuban music, marking the dance style with greater projection during the second half of the 20th century.
*Pilón: This Cuban musical genre takes its name from the rustic instrument used by peasants in eastern Cuba, a large mortar on which a pounding force is applied to crush grains.
