Every 1st Friday, join us at the Liaison Room, where we throw down top notch house, bass and dance music on the club’s custom Funktion-One sound system. This room was specifically designed for maximum sound output with warm lows and equalized high-end output. Each month we showcase different Bangarang Residents along with a special guest DJ. We also feature different visual artists with custom pieces available for purchase. We still love to dress up and wear costumes, and while there is no theme for this event, we highly encourage you to dress up in your funkiest, fanciest, most fabulous, most YOU attire, whatever you feel like....or just come as you are! Our featured artist of the month is Nikki of Dark Siren Shop. Guest DJ: Chris Patrick (SOUP NYC) - From humble roots as a teenage bedroom DJ in sub-rural Pennsylvania, Chris Patrick has been a stalwart in the US house scene since the early 00s. Relocating to New York City in 2007, he has since gained significant notoriety as resident DJ for the renowned SOUP parties, while simultaneously serving as A&R for the label and impressing in the studio with a slew of searing house cuts on a variety of labels. Chris's influences are deeply rooted in classic deep house and garage, yet his eclectic selections during sets champion bass-driven, forward-thinking sounds regardless of genre labeling - albeit never at the expense of the pulse of the dancefloor. As SOUP’s popularity has increased – thank in no small part to Chris’s residency – so his star has risen, with regular sets at Cielo, Output, TBA Brooklyn and across the city’s vibrant afterhour party scene. After releasing a few tunes on a compilation for Sullivan Room Records in 2014, his debut solo release, Blessed EP, arrived in early 2015 followed up by remixes for Funky Element and Philly's emby imprint. Following up his remix on SOUP's inaugural label release, Chris's sophomore EP arrived in the summer of 2016 via Brooklyn's Good Company Records featuring a remix from Walker & Royce, which was later licensed to the Space Ibiza 2016 compilation. More recently, Chris has remixed Man Without a Clue’s ‘Don’t Be Shy’, Deluxed ‘Your Love’ and Eskuche ‘In The Air’, all of which dropped to serious acclaim on SOUP, with a further remix of Renegade Masters’ huge ‘What I Love’ on Good Company Records. Launching in 2016 to compliment the events brand, SOUP Records has become an essential label for quality, uncompromising, underground house. With Chris spearheading the A&R, the label has seen releases from an extraordinary roster of talent, including Solardo, Derrick Carter, Junior Sanchez, Sydney Blu and many more, making it a go-to imprint for many AAA house DJs around the world. Classically trained from youth, he graduated from Drexel University as a Music Tech, and has published numerous library tracks picked up by the shows "Millionaire Matchmaker" and "Pit Bulls and Parolees” among others. In the mix, he is constantly striving for sound quality, clarity and precision. Although eclectic in genre, his mixes always keep the crowd moving on the dancefloor. You can always count on that nostalgic vocal to come in that inevitably flips to a nasty remix. He has opened for top headliners in Philly such as Billy Kenny, Christian Martin, Will Clarke, and Claude VonStroke. He always loved the beautiful melodies that were followed by a serious and heavy bassline. When he first came upon Bangarang, it didn't take very long for him to realize his love for the music and energy that this group brings. Since joining Bangarang’s beatcorps he has been perfecting his own sound, which ranges anywhere from hip – hop and down tempo, to house, deep-house, and tech-house. As a former dancer and singer, Derrick likes to let the music take control of the room and wield his versatile style to fit the energy on the dance floor and stimulate the crowd.
