BASEL NEW YEAR CONTACT IMPROVISATION FESTIVAL

Step into the Basel New Year CI Festival 2023, a 4-day gathering of dance and warmth as we close the year. Join us to move, harvest, find rest, and revitalize - an opportunity to restore and connect with others. The festival offers morning jams, classes, labs, evening jams, and shared meals. This is an invitation to come together and journey in a warm winter capsule crafted for both newcomers and experienced practitioners of the Contact Improvisation (CI) community. SCHEDULE FOR CI NEWCOMERS from dec. 28th to 30th: 10-12.30h foundational class for newcomers of CI with Rebecca Weingartner 18-19h soup-dinner by Jana Burianova 19-21h open jam (everyone is welcome to join - festival participants or not) SCHEDULE FOR EXPERIENCED CI PRACTITIONERS from dec. 28th to 30th: 10.30-13h morning jam 13-14h lunch 14-15h free time for harvesting, transitioning, writing, drawing, resting, body work etc.in a silent space 15-17.30h lab class for advanced CI practitioners with Antoine Ragot 18-19h soup-dinner by Jana Burianova 19-21h open jam (everyone is welcome to join - festival participants or not) NEW YEAR’S December 31st: There is a new year celebration with full day of jamming and disco dancing in the evening organized by Ariella Azran ([email protected]) Registration for the new year: https://zfrmz.eu/MY7FoI74j0EByjaLot1m LOCATION Cirquenflex Warteck, Burgweg 7, Basel Foundational class with Rebecca from 10-12.30h is taking place in a separate studio ACCOMMODATION It is possible to stay overnight at Cirquenflex, the dance space. There is a shower on site and a small kitchen to make coffee & tea. Bring your mat & sleeping bag. FOOD You can bring your own lunch to the studio. There's a community kitchen on site to warm up your food and to make tea & coffee.
