Join Aubrey Roze (founder of LAC) and Brigitte (founder of B-Moving), two movement alchemists, for an unforgettable evening of rhythm, connection, and embodied exploration. Through the art of dance, mindfulness, and somatic practices, we’ll guide you on a journey to awaken your body’s innate intelligence and creativity. You’ll experience the magic of rhythm patterns, lead and follow techniques, playful partner exercises, and freeform dance, all while being supported by the nurturing power of the Ousia winter tea blend and heart-centered community. Whether you're new to movement or a seasoned dancer, this evening is designed to help you deepen your connection to yourself and others, unlocking a flow of creativity and presence that extends beyond the dance floor. This workshop is designed to support: Refining lead and follow techniques for social dances like zouk, salsa, fusion and more. Let’s think & move outside of the box. Deepening your connection to rhythmic play while building capacity to improvise within rhythmic patterns. Exploring trust and communication through playful partner exercises. Integrating dance into everyday life by enhancing body awareness and flow. Fostering meaningful connections in a supportive, community-centered space. Flow of the Evening Welcoming Circle & Ousia Winter Tea Ceremony We’ll begin by grounding together, sipping the Ousia winter tea blend, and setting our intentions as a group. Nervous System & Parts Work Meditation We’ll briefly explore how movement supports the nervous system, followed by a meditation to help deepen awareness and presence. Rhythm Patterns & Repetition Experience how rhythm and repetition in movement can awaken your body’s creativity and intelligence. Lead & Follow Techniques Dive into the balance of initiating and responding in movement, strengthening connection and trust through partner work. Creative Play & Partner Exercises Engage in playful movement exercises that bridge dance with life, fostering connection and creativity. Creative Dance Practica We’ll close with an open dance floor, allowing you to integrate the evening’s practices through free expression. Closing Circle We’ll finish by sharing reflections and gratitude, leaving with a sense of connection to take beyond the evening. Based in Durham, NC—on the traditional lands of the Eno, Lumbee, Shakori, Sissapahaw, and the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation—Aubrey is the founder and co-director of the Living Arts Collective and the Durham Salt Cave. These community-centered spaces are devoted to holistic wellness, creativity, and fostering intergenerational movement practices. Brigitte is a movement alchemist and dance artist who bridges global dance traditions, with training from Broadway Dance Center and Faculdade Angel Vianna. Her expertise spans contemporary dance, Brazilian social dances, somatic education, and transpersonal psychology. More than an artist, she is a facilitator of personal discovery through her pioneering Liquid Leading method. This approach reimagines partner dance as an intuitive dialogue that expands beyond traditional dance constraints, inviting dancers to explore movement as an intimate, responsive conversation. Her work creates transformative spaces where movement becomes a powerful language of authentic self-expression, emotional intelligence, and deep personal connection.
