Join dZouk for their acclaimed 14-week Zouk 101 program! In this small group class, you'll benefit from individual attention and having the opportunity to dance with experienced Zouk dancers. You'll learn: - Zouk fundamental movements, including Passo Basico, Lateral, Simple Turn, Viradinha, Soltinho, Gostosinho, Elastico, Yo-Yo, Frisbee (Travelling Turn) and Bonus - Timing & Foundational Technique - Connection foundations - History of Zouk, etiquette, and social norms Taught by: Laura Riva & Caitlin Ferguson Laura is the Program Director of dZouk, and is renowned internationally for her teaching style and ability as both a lead and a follow. She holds the prestige of being the first BZDC Advanced dancer in Canada, and has taught at events around the world. Caitlin has been dancing Zouk for over 10 years. She is a teacher and DJ with dZouk, with a background in Highland Dance and Ballet. TAs: Eleonora Lappano & Iva Peycheva Eleonora & Iva are both Brazilian Zouk teachers who are joining the dZouk teaching team. Students will benefit from their teaching experience in class rotations as they prepare to teach their own courses in upcoming semesters. Price: $380 plus HST. Includes 14 class sessions AND access to Sunday drop-ins and socials. Discounts available for students enrolled in other programs in either role concurrently taking 101.
