Beginner Swing and Shag

Brand new beginner swing and shag series on Saturdays! NO partner necessary, NO experience required! This will be a progressive series, so we will build, review and move on each week. We will start with 3 weeks in July and continue with a 4 more week series in August. 5:30pm Beginner Swing- In this class we will work on the fundamentals and basics of 6 count swing and Charleston for the first 3 weeks. We will teach you how to transition between these dances, how to dance them to slower and faster music and also prepare you for Lindy Hop. This is what you need to know to begin swing dancing. We will cover all the bases and give you what you need to be a solid dancer on the social dance floor and to be able to move on to the Beginner Lindy Hop course in August. 6:30pm Beginner Collegiate Shag- Collegiate Shag is a smaller niche of the swing dance scene that is growing in popularity worldwide. It is danced to uptempo music and is very athletic. In this series we will teach you all you need to know to be a shag dancer. We will teach the basic footwork, moves and technique that will give you a solid foundation and get you craving for more! After these first 3 Saturdays in July we will continue with 4 more weeks in August, buliding on the foundation with more complex footowrk, moves and technique.
