BELTANE, FESTIVAL OF SENSUALITY, PASSION, & VITALITY IS HERE The Wheel of the Year is turning again! On May 1 we arrive at holy day of Beltane, the peak of Spring and beginning of the summer. Other than Halloween, it’s the most widely known of the pagan holidays, thanks to the eye-catching Maypole—a signature of this luscious, colorful holiday. What is the Maypole ritual all about? Putting the pole in the hole! A hole in the ground, prepared by the women, is penetrated as the Maypole, prepared by the men, is erected. Then everyone dances around it with glee, rainbow ribbons in hand. The symbolism is obvious. Sexuality is celebrated. We rejoice is the fertility and fecundity of the Earth. The animals in nature are conceiving, and we can too—if not a child, an idea or other creation. Beltane honors Life, and we are honoring Beltane at our first Ecstatic Cacao Dance. Come join me with David Trevors, as we serve a sublime, Fair Trade, organic, heirloom cacao elixir, set intentions, and then dance them into existence, with a delicious DJ set. With the cacao flowing in your veins, you’re invited to boogie down to yummy beats on an outdoor dance floor, with superb views of trees and wildlife, at a private residence in Mill Valley.
