Big Apple Practice #2

Let's practice Frankie Manning's incredible Big Apple routine because 1) you probably don't know it or you get stuck in the infamous "second half" and 2) our community is hosting an event called Flying Home, the pressure is ON. A miracle named Joel Plys came to our session last week and blew us away with his incredible knowledge, teaching ability, and moral support - he's coming back for session #2! I recommend Venmo-ing him $15-$20 for the lesson/coaching @Joel-Plys. After practice, we should go get frozen custard... We do this routine to Flying Home because, for a long time, no one had transcribed the chart in the film for modern bands to play and the only recording was in this film. But also, Lionel Hampton and Illinois Jacquet are badass.
