About this Event

The Big Apple, choreographed by Frankie Manning in 1937, is an iconic circle dance with partner sections that Lindy Hoppers all over the world learn to better understand the essential Jazz dance steps of the time. And it's FUN. Similar to the Shim Sham, it's a dance that can be spontaneously performed at social dances. The Big Apple is a long and challenging routine that pushes even the most experienced and fit dancers. Last August (2023) I broke down the entire routine in a 4 hour workshop. I feel it's time to refresh and remind us of the epic choreography so we don't lose it. All students are welcome to attend -> but this will be a fast paced, Advanced workshop aiming to "review" the entire Big Apple. If you were not at my last workshop, or you have never done the Big Apple, be prepared to swim fast in the deep end.... However, brave folks are welcome to attend and try to keep up. $50 per person. You can show up at the door. Payment can be via cash, PayID, Bank Transfer, or I might acquire a Square Card reader to Tap by then! We will be at St. Peter's Hall, 181 Blues Point Road, North Sydney. * I anticipate some much needed snacks and beverages after the workshop across the street at the Commodor Hotel bar.
