This year’s festival invites you to experience the Lindy scene in Barcelona, from taking in beautiful views from the highest point of the city, Tibidabo, to taking a dip in the sea after dancing till your body says ‘no more’! The journey from mountains to sea is the most intense way to experience what Barcelona’s Lindy scene has to offer! Thursday 15/09/2016: A day at Tibidabo 21:30 PRE-PARTY Come grab a drink with your fellow dancers, listen to some music and check out the beautiful views of Barcelona. There’ll be a bit of dancing ;) but save your energy as we’ve got plenty of dancing and activities planned throughout the next few days. Friday 16/09/2016: Modernism DAY 18:00 Tour of Sant Pau A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sant Pau complex dates back to the 20th century and is one of the most important works of art of architects Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The complex functioned as a hospital until June 2009, before undergoing an ambitious restoration and becoming one of the largest cultural centers in Barcelona. Currently, the center is home to various institutions and hosts events and conferences throughout the year. Its beautiful domes, facades, sculptures and stained glass are sure to make an impression. 19:00 Concert in Sant Pau Modernism & Lindy Hop Dance in one of the most iconic Modernist buildings in Barcelona. Join this private and exclusive concert- only for holders of a VIP Ella or Duke pass. Don't miss it! 21:30 Pin-up/army Party Let’s dance! Come with your best gala attire and kick off the party with a cocktail. We have a full plenary filled with live music, performances and surprises. There will also be catering at the start of the party, so make sure to come early. Saturday 17/09/2016: A day in Sant Andreu 11:00 SPA relax BLE is more than dancing. Come amb relax with us!! We will make a thermal route consisting in different chambers and temperatures between which you find the bathroom tempered, the hot bath and cold. The bathroom also has a thousand jets, the hammam or Steam Bath and, under an original Roman vault, has at its disposal the Salt Bath. 12:00 Live concert with Rita Payés & Joan Chamorro Group and Enrique Oliver i Joan Codina Swing out at this outdoor music concert, part of the Jazzing festival organised by the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. Enjoy the outdoor breeze and a spacious dancefloor ;) 18:00 Swing dancing translated into chocolate Lindy Hop, Blues, Shag, Balboa…experience these dances with a different set of senses. Cacao Sampaka has prepared a special chocolate tasting just for us! Taste the different qualities of each style and you’ll see the similarities every time you dance. A delicious way to experience each dance. 19:00 Movie screening- “Kids & Music” Incredible kid’s jazz band “A Film About Kids and Music” is a documentary about the Sant Andreu Jazz band. The young orchestra, conducted by Joan Chamorro, unites kids of age 6 to 18 to play classical jazz in some of the most well known auditoriums in Spain. 20:45 Mafia Party We’ll leave present-day Barcelona behind and walk into the hidden dark corners of an abandoned textile factory from the 20’s. Here, nothing is forbidden and dancing and trouble is the order of the day. Think before crossing the door, there’s no turning back. Join the largest family of organised crime- Lindy! More than 1000m2 is sure to be enough space for your craziest moves! Sunday 18/09/2016: a day at the sea! 12:00 “Cubs” special jam on the beach Let’s go to the beach! Come to the Barceloneta neighborhood to stroll through its narrow streets, dance near the water and later cool off in the sea! 14:30 Lunch near the sea! Get ready for a delicious traditional Paella. Vegetarian option is also available. More information about the menu coming soon! 19:00 Jam at Port Olímpic Wrap up the weekend full of dancing with a live concert in the open air and views of Barcelona that are sure to give you a different perspective on the city.
