Channeling the post-holiday glow, Boca Do Rio is ready to transport us into an exotic sonic jungle of infinite possibility. Guitarist/vocalist Kevin Welch and percussion master Alex Calatayud are tapped in to the essence of what the pulsing, seductive energy of Brazilian music is all about. Prepare for an enchanting cultural experience while being hypnotized by Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Along with their South American roots, they also draw from San Francisco’s well of funky, psychedelic samba. Backed by the incredible players from Big Sticky Mess, this dance party is sure to make the windows steam up! Just to be sure, we’re bringing in the OG vinyl samurai, DJ Fossil. It’s been so long since he’s graced us with his one-of-a-kind talent and we’re very excited to have him back. He can do it all, but funk, soul and rare groove are his specialties. He took a trip to Brazil last year and came back with an amazing selection of obscure vinyl, so we expect he’ll be dropping some of that goodness in our ears.
