About this Event

Body-Mind Centering® Dance Labs a 4-week series with Cathie Caraker A somatic approach to dance training that integrates embodied anatomy, partner work and improvisation from the ground up. Material will be drawn from Body-Mind Centering® (BMC), a dynamic and creative embodiment practice. Starting low with developmental movement patterns and reflexes cultivates ease and connection, preparing our bodies and minds for multidirectional pathways through space, disorientation, rigorous research and spontaneous composition. Each class will investigate the structure and expression of a specific body system through touch and movement, following our curiosity and kinesthetic appetite to expand and refine our dance vocabularies. WHEN: Monday and Wednesday mornings 10 - 12, 10/27 - 11/19 WHERE: ODC Dance Commons on 10/27, 10/29, 11/3, 11/5 351 Shotwell St, SF LEVY Studio on 11/10, 11/12, 11/17 and 11/19 19 Heron St, SF More info at: www.caraker.com http://www.odcdance.org/school.php Cathie Caraker is an international dance artist and teacher.
