About this Event

8pm to 9pm Every Friday lesson unless otherwise noted. we like to mix it up a little every Friday. So this time it will be Cuban Bolero. Bolero is danced on 2 different timings in Cuba. The Cuban bolero is a romantic, slow-tempo ballad that originated in eastern Cuba (Santiago de Cuba) in the late 19th century. Bachata traces its roots to Bolero. We will go over which bolero songs favor which timings. Discuss some instruments and how to identify a bolero song. We will learn the basic bolero steps and turn it into a fun bolero combination. If you attended every SOTS (salsa on the square) this past summer and think that you never heard a bolero song played, you would be wrong. You may have thought it was bachata or chachacha or even son, but it was a bolero and we will teach you how to dance to it. Come learn to appreciate this beautiful genre from Cuba. $5 cover $5 class 9pm to 1 am DJ playing Salsa Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton. La Gozadera Latin Club in Norwood 21 and over only.
