Bood'nBone returns... Join us, Aroop Roy and guests at The Depot, Clapton, all in support of Meet Me There Weekender - Ghana. MUSIC: Aroop Roy is a UK producer and DJ with stomping releases on labels such as The House of Disco, Gamm, and Basic Fingers. Aroop blends together the organic elements of jazz, afro, latin and funk with the deeper edge of house and disco. Aroop's productions have been supported worldwide by numerous tastemakers and DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Atjazz, Karizma, Lefto, Soul Clap, Jimpster, Dj Spinna, Francois K and Detroit Swindle. Support comes from Nala and Bood'nBone. EVENT INFO: This time all proceeds are going towards raising vital funds for the MMT Weekender, which in turn raises money for the sanitation projects of Dream Big Ghana! MEET ME THERE WEEKENDER : 15th-18th March 2018 MMT Weekender is a celebration of Ghanaian culture through music, arts and workshops. Our sole aim is to raise funds for the sanitation and teaching projects, run by the charity Dream Big Ghana. The festival itself will be held in the stunning Meet Me There, not for profit eco lodge, which directs all its profits back into Dream Big Ghana. Dream Big Ghana, is a UK registered charity, the mission of Dream Big Ghana NGO is to work with the village communities of Dzita and Agbledomi on sanitation, healthcare, education and youth sports development projects. The NGO provides practical volunteering opportunities for people from the UK and elsewhere. The NGO also organises elective placements for health care students. To date there have been 67 toilets built, benefiting around 1340 people. Music / Arts / Culture We will be showcasing the best of Ghanaian bands and including DJ’s from around the world. Our programme includes: - Locally run workshops, ranging from Batik printing, Ghanaian Cuisine to African Drumming and dancing workshops plus many more. - Boat parties and beach activities such as volleyball. There will be a variety of different styles for accommodation. Ranging from tents to budget rooms to AC luxury rooms. All accommodation is between 15-50 minute shuttle bus or taxi away.
