Brazilian Samba - All Levels

Authentic Brazilian Samba on Mondays in Johannesburg! Our class is an all-levels class focusing on Brazilian carnival-style samba. Much of our teaching focuses on the 'samba no pé', the practice and styling of the main samba step. We teach the spirit, energy, musicality and improvisation of samba through carnival and other samba music, and classes will generally include a short routine or choreography for practicing steps and combinations. From time to time we will enjoy other samba styles for broader learning in the samba-sphere! Note: This is NOT a partner-led dance, but both men and women are encouraged to attend as there are roles for both! (any men who have done a little pantsula might find samba enjoyable..) Whether you’re a total beginner, intermediate or an experienced dancer please join us! This is one of the only authentic Brazilian samba classes in the country and we invite you to join us in building this community. BOOKING IS IMPERATIVE. WE HAVE A LIMIT TO THE TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER CLASS - please call Cat to book your place!
