Please come and invite people who might be interested :) WHAT IS BRAZILIAN ZOUK? Brazilian Zouk is known for its flowing, expressive and sensual movements. The dance is about connection, with heavy focus on leading and following roles. Characteristics of the dance are the dips, hair whips, hip to hip connection, body isolations and head movement. Zouk can be danced to any genre of music from anywhere in the world. Popular genres for dancing Brazilian Zouk are Kizomba, R&B, Brazilian Funk, Acoustic, Pop and Electronic music. Brazilian Zouk, also known as Zouk-Lambada is an evolution of the Brazilian dance from the 90s called Lambada. He has completed Zouk teacher training with the original creators of Zouk Lambada Renata Peçana and Adilio Porto at the Dutch International Zouk Congress in October 2018. He has taught Kizomba since 2014, and in 2015, he was invited to teach Kizomba at the Washington DC Zouk Festival. At this conference his interest in Zouk began. While attending numerous Zouk conferences he has had the pleasure to work with most major international Zouk artists on numerous occasions. In March 2016, he founded the Zouk Energy dance school to spread Zouk, teach connection and Zouk fundamentals. Octavio also trains and dances as a follow to provide valuable training for both leads and follows. He offers private lessons for following technique, ladies steps and styling.
