Her journey with Brazilian Zouk began in 2014, when she was drawn to its expressive, intimate nature and the unique connection it fosters between partners. From 2017 to 2024, she became a key figure in Berlin’s Zouk scene; teaching across Germany, leading Dança Alegria as chairwoman, and building community through weekly classes, monthly weekenders, and larger international events. Her work consistently centers around connection; between dancers, between cultures, and within the self. João’s dance journey began in Brazil in 2012 with Forró, where he fell in love not just with the dance, but with the culture around it. After moving to Europe in 2014, he dove deep into the festival scene, and by 2017, he was already teaching; playing a key role in the growth of social dance communities in Dublin, Galway, and Cork, and later teaching at festivals around the UK and Europe. In 2019, he found a new groove in Brazilian Zouk, learning from artists like Wilson Fonseca and Iago & Ninna, and further developing his style through programs like "Zouk Needs You". With over a decade of combined experience in Zouk and a shared love for cozy, soft connection, João and Saba now team up to share their passion with dancers across Europe. Their teaching blends solid technique with a creamy, intuitive flow; making Zouk feel as good as it looks.
