This sensual dance style is characterized by flowing steps, close embrace, hip movement, and is unique in both its sensual wavy full body movements and upper body isolations that create the followers' graceful, beautiful, and intricate head movement. Learning and dancing Brazilian Zouk allows us to experience increasing our sensitivity, communication, and trust, and opens up the opportunity to relate to another soul in a new and beautiful way. Besides being originated from lambada, Zouk has many diverse styles and draws influences from many different dances. The music is also diverse, ranging from RNB, Pop, Kizomba, Reggaeton, Funk, Zouk, Dubstep, Hip hop, Remixes,… Nowadays Brazilian Zouk is growing fast, with countless festivals around all the continents, and has been gaining more and more followers worldwide in the last two decades! _____________________________________________ * * * A B O U T * * * ZOUK-VIENNA CONNECTION ========================= is an association (Verein) dedicated specifically to BRAZILIAN ZOUK. To book classes it is not necessary to pay neither initial, nor regular membership fee apart from the cost for the specific course(s). We are organizing classes, parties and other events since 2011 and have profound experience in teaching Zouk and organizing dance events. GUIDO ASCHENBRENNER ======================= is international dance instructor and also Vienna's first local Zouk teacher and organizer. He started dancing ballroom at the age of 16, also participating in shows already in his first year. Later he discovered Latin dances such as Salsa, Bachata and others, before he got fascinated by Brazilian ZOUK, which he has been dancing since 2010 and teaching since 2011. Since 2014 he also dances Samba de Gafieira, which he is also teaching irregularly as of 2016. Guido always had LAMBADA in his life, the ROOTS of Zouk. Since 2023 he is specializing even more in LAMBADA and is also teching LAMBADA. Guido has learnt from all important Zouk/Lambada/Gafieira teachers across the globe in Europe and Brazil in group and private classes as well as numerous special teacher trainings in group and private setting, partly in Brazil, where he was also teaching as congress instructor. Guido always keeps up to date by attending congresses and traveling to Brazil (already 10 times by 2024). One of his stays included a 3 weeks immersion at the famous dance school of Daniel, Matheus & Nina in CAMPINAS, SP, Brazil. The teachers influencing his dance style most significantly are world-famous stars William TEIXEIRA & Irene SILVIA, Iago HASSUIKE & Vanessa MEIRELLES, Ariel PARACHIN & Leticia CASTRO, Val CLEMENTE & Vanessa BONILHA, Matheus FRANCO & Nina DARBELLO, Marck SILVA & Melyssa TAMADA, Freddy MARINHO & Andressa CASTELHANO, Clinton LACERDA & Cristi BOONE and many more. A significant increase of the Zouk scene in Vienna happened thanks to Guido's initiative: Starting in 2011 he was the first one making the important step to teach weekly classes and to organize weekly socials in Austria as well as regular workshop weekends with famous guest teachers (predominantly from Brazil) in Vienna. He is founder of the yearly events RIO ZOUK (& SAMBA) WEEKEND and MEGA ZOUK & SAMBA WEEKEND and has organized numerous smaller events. Overall, he has already brought almost all big teachers to Vienna for workshops, festivals and also for longer-term stays. Guido is the founder of ZOUK-VIENNA CONNECTION, an association in Austria specifically dedicated to ZOUK and other Brazilian dances working closely with other Brazilian organizations and Brazilian artists. He is also the founder of two event with a totally new concept: CROATIA ZOUK MARATHON & CROATIA LAMBADA MARATHON. As a former member of the International Zouk Flash Mob Management Team (IZFM MT) he also worked to serve the Zouk scene worldwide for several years. He is creating remixes as "DJ Guido Zoukeiro" and playing on various international events. His very latest specialty is LIVE re-mixing of songs with the Zouk beat and other beats as well as video DJ-ing. Guido not only knows Zouk / dance technique in the greatest detail, but also works a lot with intuition, connection, body and soul interdependence, energy, preparing the body for movement and spirituality.
