Hugo is Brazilian. He lived his whole childhood in Rio de Janeiro and studied in several dance schools since he was 13, before focusing seriously in Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira in the renowned school of Renata Peçanha.
From 2012, Hugo started teaching Brazilian ballroom dances. In 2013, he briefly assisted Renata Peçanha in teaching at her school before leaving to continue on his own path.
In April 2015, he participated in a ballroom dance competition in Rio de Janeiro where he helped Viviane Soares dance Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira and helped her place 1st in the competition.
He went on to teach at various Brazilian and European events and travels throughout Europe in order to teach mostly Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira.
Gaëlle is French. She lived abroad for 11 years (Brazil, Finland, England and the Czech Republic).
She is a Pole Dance teacher since 2008 and won the 2nd and 3rd place in two Finnish national competitions.
She has also trained in oriental dancing and other Latin dances.
She found out about Brazilian Zouk in 2012 thanks to Freddy et Andressa, completely fell in love with it and focused completely on it after that.
In order to deepen and polish her skills, she travelled and trained with a few other Brazilian teachers, before going to live in Rio de Janeiro. There she met her future husband, Hugo, and continued to study Brazilian Zouk and other Brazilian dances for 2 years.
Hugo and Gaëlle have been based in France since 2018 and have taught together in France and numerous other festivals since.
