Jeramie has traveled around the world dancing and training from the best Zouk artists. Alyssa brings an extensive dance background in a variety of dance genres including multiple latin dance forms. Both instructors are passionate about growing Zouk in the region. Don't miss this rare opportunity to deepen your Zouk skills right here in Asheville! This Open Level workshop is 90 minutes long. Come learn and then return for our social at 9:00 PM when Jeramie and Alyssa teach a mini Beginner Zouk lesson followed by social dancing in a designated Zouk Room. Jeramie will DJ the hottest Zouk tracks for you to practice your new skills. The social also includes Salsa and Bachata dancing in the large room with DJ Edi Mapache. Hop back and forth between the two rooms for a full night of vibrant latin dancing! ---- What is Zouk? Zouk, or more formally called Brazilian Zouk, is a latin partner dance form originating from Brazil in the 90s, rooted in the Brazilian dance Lambada. It was initially danced to Caribbean island rhythms with influence from other genres. Now Zouk is danced to a wide range of music styles. Zouk is an evolving dance form incorporating playful footwork, body movements, and unique head movements.
