About this Event
Breathe in the Body
Breath is a powerful tool. Pair it with free-form movement and it'll take you straight into the reservoir of emotion we pack away over the course of our days.
Each week we come to release, to practice, to gather. And honestly — the days I need my dance the most are the days I come back to my breath. I use it to spark something. To light a fire in my soul that moves me from deep within the seat of my own belonging to myself.
From my breath I find the fire to inspire, and the resource to relax. I find spaciousness. And I find this yearning to remember that I'm never separate from the cycle of life and death spiralling in and out of me in every moment — the one that lives in all things.
Everything begins and ends. And in between, we get to ask: how much am I willing to give to this? To surrender. To freedom. To showing up exactly as I am — and asking forgiveness — so I can move what needs to move, right here, right now.
Come breathe. Come move what needs to move.

About Alex King-Harris
Alex King-Harris (affectionately known in the music world as Rara) has been on conscious dance floors most of his life. Now approaching 50, the grey hairs are bringing out a serenity in his facilitation and musicianship — the kind that only comes from a thousand-plus dances on floors all over the world.
A graduate with distinction in Jazz Studies from Vancouver Island University, Alex has spent 25+ years working where electronic sound meets ancient practice — a founding contributor to projects like Desert Dwellers, Shaman's Dream and Liquid Bloom, playing transformational gatherings from Wanderlust to Lightning in a Bottle, and co-founding YogiTunes back when "music for yoga" was barely a category. These days he pours it into EvolveWell — breathwork, voice, movement, somatic integration — and into holding floors close to home.
