Brenda and Anderson NYC Weekender

🎉 Zoukeras e Zoukeros! 🎉 We're very happy to announce an exciting new weekender featuring Brenda and Anderson. There will be important dance exercises, intensive training, parties all night long, and a brunch party. You will be learning with some of the best in the world. Brought to you by Zouk Connect NYC, a group that is dedicated to bringing you new high quality events and opportunities for you to get more involved in a leadership role the community (contact us!) The weekender will include 3 days of classes, 2 Nights of High Quality Socials, and a Zouk Amor brunch party, included in the price of your ticket. You can expect: ■ Friday Night Workshop and Social ■ Saturday Afternoon Intensive ■ Saturday Night workshop and social ■ Sunday Afternoon Workshops, starting at 1pm ■ Brunch, starting around 3pm 🎼 International Quality DJs 🎼 ■ Great Manhattan Locations This will include about 3.5-4 hours of intensive workshops and 4 - 5 hours of open level classes and exercises. BIO Brenda and Anderson are considered two of the best Samba de Gafieira dancers in the world and have exploded recently onto the zouk scene at two of the hottest and most sought after zouk dancers worldwide. They focus on themes that encompass dance as a whole, such as connection, energy through touch, technique in body movement, and flow. Since 2011, they have taught or performed together in more than 40 cities around the world, including in Brazouka and won 1st place in all of the 4 competitions Samba de Gafiera that they have participated in to date. They have been together since November 2011. Anderson began his dance career at the age of 13, working through all rhythms and styles of Brazilian dance and was one of the first Brazilians to work as a couple in an international tour. Brenda started at age 20 and was trained by master Jaime Arôxa. She developed more contact with couple dancing, such as tango, zouk, bolero and samba de gafiera, that she deepened her studies of further when she met Anderson in 2011. Destiny, coincidence, luck, or all three, caused them to cross paths with Xandy Liberato, who was already studying the vast world of connection in partner dances with his extensive dance background. Today, they divide their time between workshop preparation, concept development, choreography, and international tours in order to build a center of integration of mind, body and spirit that has been the main focus their partnership.
