Their passion is to perform for the Lindy Hop community in NYC and abroad. They have filled the dance floor at many NYC venues including the NY Transit Museum, Swing 46, Hudson Yards, Brooklyn Swings, The Swing Remix, The historic Abyssinian Church, You Should Be Dancing, and The Django. They also performed at the Guggenheim Museum’s 60th Anniversary. The band performs at Lindy Hop events and have played at the Penn Intercollegiate Lindy Exchange and The Subway Swing Festival. Yep! At 7:00, one of our fantastic Brooklyn Swings Instructors will teach a short dance combination. It’s something you can dance alone, but everybody will be in a group to make it easier. And you won’t have to perform it! After the lesson, the instructor will be available as Teacher-on-Call to answer any further dancing questions you have the rest of the night. And what exactly do you mean by ‘Sliding Scale’? We want to make the dance accessible to everyone, and part of that is affordable admission. So chip in $5 - $10 on DJed nights, or $10 - $15. You pick. This way, we can keep booking the space, and you can keep coming back. Everybody wins!
