Brum Swing Exchange is a weekend full of social dancing, parties, music, friends and all the best things that Birmingham can offer. Live music by Shirt Tail Stompers Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra and @MartynNelsonandtheRhythmRemedies Brum Swing Exchange is a non-profit event run by a group of passionate local dancers from across the Birmingham Swing dance community who want to share our love of swing dancing and our city with the rest of the world. Band: The Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra Saturday 9th June 1pm – 5pm – Day time activities Birmingham Walking Tour – Discover bits of Brum’s history, interesting places and stories on our Saturday morning walking tour – Time and meeting location tbc. Afternoon dance. We are aiming for an outdoor location if the weather’s nice UKULELE workshop with Tim Kindred YOGA taster class with Tian Coulsting –time and location coming soon. BALBOA taster class with Stephen Badham and Lynn Maslen so you can dance to those crazy fast songs! Time and location coming soon. 7pm to 1:30am – Swing Ball Aston University Student Guild. Band: The Shirt Tail Stompers Theme of the Saturday party is “Peaky Blinders” inspired by the infamous gang from Birmingham. Time to watch the TV series if you haven’t yet! We will be holding the Peaky Blindfolded Mix&Match competition – Details of how to register will be released through our social media.
