About this Event

You say more? We say yes! Save the dates, the BRUX is reconvening for its fourth edition from Thursday 12th to Monday 16th October! Join us for five days of the best Brussels can offer to dancers: live music at its highest, breathtaking parties, splendid historic venues, most memorable day activities, all sprinkled with the unique Belgian hospitality and warmth. Cannot make it for five days? No problem, week-end and party passes will also be available 😅 Get your pass at http://www.thebrux.be/registration (from Monday 1st May, 8pm). /// PROGRAMME /// [Get the latest version of the programme on the BRUX website: https://www.thebrux.be/program] We'll kick off the celebrations on Thursday night to the sound of Hermann Quintet, a Brussels-based band with a repertoire inspired by Django Reinhardt. We’ll finish at 2am, leaving you enough sleeping time in case you need to be fresh for the last working day of the week. Friday night party will start at 8pm and we’ll dance until 5am (or until we can bounce no more) to the tunes of TWO wonderful bands: New Orleans Night Owls, the oldest and most prestigious swing band in Belgium, and Reverent Juke, the renowned Brussels-based band that sets fire to every party! Saturday daytime activities will only begin at 13h30, so you can have a lie-in and recover from Friday crazy night. You will have the choice between two wonderful activities. First option: the visit of the “Brussels Beer Project” brewery to discover this recent collaborative project using co-creation to innovate and bring fresh air into the Belgian craft brewing scene. Get ready to taste some wonderful beers! Second option: an Art-Nouveau guided tour with Marie, architect in the day life, swing dancer in the night life, to discover stunning Art-Nouveau edifices. In the mid-afternoon, we will move to a secret pub to swing on the tunes of the “Student Jazz Orchestra Brussels”, a big band coming from the Université libre de Bruxelles and directed by the remarkable Rob Spelberg. Saturday night will start at 8pm and we’ll dance until 5am (or until we can bounce no more) to the tunes of TWO gorgeous bands: the most brilliant mini big band The Hop Sh Bam Connection Deluxe directed by Marie Anne Standaert, and the energetic and spicy Birdie Bounce from Ghent. The day after tomorrow, exhausted by hours of dancing, you will get a chance to fuel up altogether on a Sunday brunch in our main venue. Our Chef, Jean-Baptiste Nyssen, with his food truck “Keep On Toasting”, will offer you all-you-can-eat gourmet “croque-monsieur”, among many other delicious dishes (viennoiseries, fruit salad, carrot salad, bread, emmenthal, ham, coffee, tea and orange juice). Vegan and gluten-free “croque-monsieur” will be available. Reinvigorated by this brunch, we will jump into the tea dance Sunday party. Yet another band will enliven the ambiance: The Twilight Time Conspiracy, from Antwerp. Long-time swing lovers, they will play smooth swinging tunes, perfect for your harassed feet! Because you always say more, after the tea dance, we will move downtown to La Machine for an after party, full of blues and madness. Last but not least, the Monday night party will cherish blues music. The team of Downtown Blues will be playing the finest, sultriest tunes in the heart of Brussels. Be there, dance and relax! /// VENUE /// You loved some much last year’s new main venue, that we decided to keep it. It will be the “Salle des Guichets” (the ticketing hall) of the BIP on Place Royale. Built in 1775, the building is located in the historical centre of Brussels, and has preserved its elegance and prestige. Most importantly, the room’s wooden floor will no doubt make countless lindy hoppers happy. For those of you new to Brussels, the venue is also just a stone throw away from the Palais royal de Bruxelles, the Musée Magritte, the centre for fine arts BOZAR, etc. /// PASSES /// - For 90€, get the full pass for access to all parties (Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday tea dance). - For 81€, get the weekend pass for access to all weekend parties (Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday tea dance). - For 50€, get the Friday & Sunday party pass, or the Saturday & Sunday party pass.
