Bryant Park Latin Festival

Latin Dance Festival celebrating Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue with La Sonora Nuyorkina featuring MAYRA BELLO, Osmay Calvo, and Wilson Quevedo. Latin Festival is the grand finale of Dance Party, a series hosted and produced by Talia Castro-Pozo. Festivities start at 5pm and continue until 10pm. This event is free and no tickets are needed! 5pm: Merengue dance instruction & demo 5:50pm: La Sonora Nuyorking featuring Mayra Bello 6:40pm: Bachata dance instruction & demo 7:30pm: La Sonora Nuyokina featuring Wilson Quevedo 8:20pm: Salsa dance instruction & demo 9:10pm: La Sonora Nuyokina featuring Osmay Calvo La Sonora Nuyorkina is a contemporary salsa band bringing a fresh sound to an array of Latin traditional styles of music. The band's repertoire ranges from original material to the most popular hits of today. Trumpeter, salsa dancer, and founding member Wilson Portuondo founded La Sonora Nuyorkina in 2010 out of a desire to cater to NYC's growing and diverse dance community, stressing innovative arrangements and quality music. Members of La Sonora hail from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Ecuador, as well as the United States. Each musician brings their unique taste, talent, and experience to inform La Sonora's vibrant and internationally acclaimed sound.
