As part of our 2020 edition of Birmingham Swing Festival our Saturday Grand Ball will take place at the magnificent Birmingham Town Hall. Immerse yourself in a night of the best swing music and dancing in one of Birmingham's finest venues.
This iconic historical building has played host to none other than Count Basie as well as artists and acts including Edward Elgar, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen and The Rolling Stones.
The Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra, Birmingham’s hippest 16-piece big band will play authentic vintage swing music from the 1930s and 40s. This home-grown big band is building up a real name for themselves, taking its inspiration from the original big bands of the swing era. They play the classic original arrangements of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson and Count Basie amongst others. The Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra is a regular at swing dance events and their barnstorming set last year sure got the joint jumpin’!
Dress to impress and enjoy hours of social dancing to live music and some of the UK's finest DJs, competitions and performances.
