Sign up for the newsletter here: https://forms.gle/UnMd3YwSJMZS6M4V7 Budapest Tango Meeting is a self-organizing tango weekend created by the community — for dancers who want to learn, dance, meet new people, and experience Budapest together without festival distance or high costs. During the meeting, you can expect around 12 hours of tango workshops included in the package, at open, beginner, and intermediate levels. As a new option, advanced dancers will also be able to join extra advanced-level workshops with local teachers at a discounted price. The evenings will be filled with around 18 hours of friendly night milongas, with snacks provided and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. But this meeting is not only about dancing. Budapest is part of the experience: thermal baths, walks, sightseeing, food spots, shared city programs, and time to relax together between workshops and milongas. For low-budget travelers, a limited number of free shared sleeping spots will be available on the floor in a dance room. We will also help participants organize shared apartment rentals. The meeting is based on a voluntary donation system. We suggest a recommended contribution to help cover the venue, teachers, DJs, snacks, and organization, but we want to keep the event accessible. If you can give more, you help others join; if you can give less, you are still welcome. Any possible surplus is used according to a clear budget plan: to support the people who create the meeting — teachers, DJs, organizers, photograpers — and to promote tango among young people. This event is especially close to the young tango community, regardless of dance level — from complete beginners to advanced dancers. Everyone is welcome: what matters is an open heart, a supportive attitude, and the wish to co-create a friendly atmosphere. Join us in Budapest for four days of tango, friendship, city life, and community. Dance. Connect. Co-create. 💃🕺Teachers: This year, there are about 15 great teachers coming. For example: Duygu Akalin (Turkey), Eddie Lopez (Ecuador), Endre Szeghalmi (HU), Emilia Kumpulainen (Finland), György Horváth (HU), Julia Emmerich (HU), Moritz Hering (Germany), Ella (Germany), Riccardo Di Franco (Italy) and even more great teachers, who we will announce soon :) These are teachers who will definitely: -create a friendly, sometimes fun environment around them, so even beginners will definitely feel "at home" 🙌😍 -due to the unusually high participant/teacher ratio, you can be sure that this will be a developmental weekend 🧠👀 -even if you are a very advanced dancer: you can be sure that you will have good tandas and there will be teachers from whom you can learn too 🫶💃🕺 Our teachers are part of the tango community and co-create the meeting together with us. You can book a shared accommodation with other participants. For those who want to travel cheaply, we will rent a dance hall where you can sleep on the floor. At the studio, we provide separated rooms, yoga mats, male and female bathrooms and showers, a fridge, and a great atmosphere in the heart of the city. You must bring the sleeping bag yourself with you. It’s not a five-star experience, but you’ll have a wonderful time with amazing people. 🧭 A welcoming city: Budapest is the beautiful capital of Hungary. You will have opportunities to sightsee and meet new people from different countries. In December, the city shines in Christmas splendor. Great Christmas markets, ice skating rinks and warm thermal baths await you in the city. 📍Venue: Art's Harmony Studio (Rökk Szilárd u. 11): traditional basement dance hall in the city center with 170 square meters of dance space, air conditioning and sound system. Most of the milongas and workshops will be held here. RMYoga Studio (Bécsi u. 1): stylish yoga studio with 50+25 square meters of dance rooms, air conditioning, sound system, showers. Those who travel cheaply can stay here. In addition, it can be used as a venue for some workshops during the day and as an "off-program" practice location. It cannot be used for dancing from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. for the benefit of the dancers staying there. 🚋 Public transportation in Budapest: For reasons of flexibility, we recommend different solution: -EU students can purchase a monthly ticket for the entire province (vármegyebérlet) for €2.5 -one adult can buy a 72-hour ticket for €15 -single ticket price for public transport: approx. 1.30 euros -the passes are not valid for the airport bus (100E), you need to buy a separate airport ticket (6,5 euros) OR the normal pass is valid for the 200E bus and will take you to the metro ☀️ What do you win by booking seats in advance? - Free seats for the tango weekend and for free lodging are limited. You will secure a place that could potentially run out. - We want to give everyone the opportunity to experience tango Budapest in pleasant company, regardless of financial situation.
