Buenos Aires immersion 2022

This is a trip designed for you to immerse yourself in the culture of Buenos Aires and the art of its beloved dance, not just skim the surface of a typical touristic agenda. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the “greats” in the tango world. Ask questions, observe, participate….it will be up to you but the opportunity will yours! GOAL The goal is to acquire a more wholesome understanding of Argentine tango through training with accomplished and respected teachers, dancers and milongueros of Buenos Aires. What is the essence of tango, where does truth lie in the myths and where can we break away from falsities? Bring home a new understanding, new exercises, new inspiration to share with your community and those across the globe. SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS ⁃ An exclusive group class DAILY with a renowned maestro/a or milonguero/a ⁃ An interview with a well known milonguero/a ⁃ A conference on tango music and culture In addition and included, Daily consultation: where to … (eat, go, visit), what to … (eat, do, see), classes to take, etc. Daily exclusive dance classes with respected and experienced maestros and Milongueros Daily Milonga and practica attendance (entrance not included) Daily recommendations for places to go/visit Daily Taxi-dancers available for Tango activities Example of a schedule DAY 1: - Sightseeing (*) - Exclusive class/practica w/guess maestro A (120m) - Guided Practica w/Santiago & Amy (60m) - Walking Buenos Aires(*) - Milonga/practica attending (**) (*) There are many places to visit and experience Buenos Aires, some are very touristic and others are places that locals prefer. We’ll make sure to provide both options as a list of activities to do as a group or individually (ex: iconic sites of Buenos Aires, shopping areas, restaurants, cafes, etc). (**) We’ll provide a list of daily recommended milongas and pre-milonga classes. This list will be diverse! - There’ll be 2 hours of dance classes every day with guest instructors, plus a guided practica w/Santiago & Amy. (taxi-dancers included) - When we schedule conferences and lectures the practica will be optional. - You can attend any milonga you wish. There’ll be daily recommended milongas/practicas, evening and night. Is up to the group to go all together or separately. - There’ll be taxi dancers in every class to provide gender balance and raise the learning curve (included in the package). GROUP SIZE: The group size will be between 8 and 12 people to assure maximum personalization of the learning process. YOU’LL BE COVERED; 24hr access: You’ll be able to contact us at any time during your trip. It’s important to us that you feel safe and well accompanied. GETTING TO Buenos Aires: We’ll be recommending airfares and transportation from the airport to your destination (not included in package). ACCOMMODATIONS: We’ll be encouraging group housing but you can also choose to find your own accommodation. We’d like to try to have everybody staying in the same neighborhood so that daily meetings can be met more efficiently (ideally within walking distance). However you can always chose to share an apartment with a friend or find a room on your own. Once you’re signed up for the trip we’ll send you a form where you can specify your housing preferences in order for us to organize lodging. DATES: This tour will take place between May 28 and June 12th 2022. This is a tentative date that could variate depending on demand. TAXI DANCERS: We’ll provide 1 taxi dancer per person for all exclusive classes (*). Taxi dancers for accompanying you at milongas will have to be contracted on your own outside the package. (*) the amount of assistants in class will variate depending on Maestro's requirement. BEFORE THE TRIP Before heading to Buenos Aires you’ll be provided with a complete recommendation list in regards to your trip, ex: best places to stay, local transportation options, exchanging money, getting your needs met based on your budget, what kind of clothing to bring, where to eat (in case of special needs), local customs, safety precautions, etc. PRICE OF THE TOUR The price for the tour will be, (depending of group size) around: - $699 (without accomodations) - $999 (accommodations included) It includes: - accommodations - classes with guest maestros - conferences (interactive) - lectures (non interactive) - Practicas with Santiago & Amy*, - taxi dancers (in classes) - and discounted costs of privates with S&A SIGN UP You can sign up and reserve your spot by writing an email to: [email protected].
