This platonic playshop is for anyone who enjoys cacao, cuddles, and wants more practice with consent-communication skills. You do not need to touch anyone or be touched in order to participate. You are always at choice. This playshop is a fun way to practice saying no to what you don’t want and yes to what you do want. It’s an opportunity to explore giving and receiving platonic touch. You can also just hang out and connect if you prefer not to touch or be touched. Cacao will be served as a heart-opening welcome, before our intro begins. Once we start co-creating our guidelines for a safe container the doors for our learning laboratory will close. No one will be permitted to enter after 7pm. We hear the phrase "Consent is Sexy" all the time - how do we know if we're really getting it? Come and find out, in this playful exploration to increase comfort and fluency in asking for what we desire. Build the bridge from understanding "consent" as a concept, into full embodiment and expression. We will unpack and explore the nuances of touch for one's own pleasure, and touch for someone else's pleasure, with the "Wheel of Consent" and "3-Minute Game" as taught by Dr. Betty Martin. Get ready for large deposits of oxytokens! <3 After the consent portion you will have time to practice what you learned in a relaxed chill space. You can chat, hang out, ask for or offer massage/cuddles and there is never any pressure to touch. Learning to communicate clearly about boundaries is an essential life skill. Having vocabulary to talk about the kinds of touch we do and don't desire helps us to connect with others in ways that are comfortable and safe. In this playshop, we learn how to create a container in which the only experiences we have are ones that we are clear about and in agreement on. These communication skills help to create safer, more enjoyable, conscious interactions around physical connection.
