We’re sorry for any inconvenience. A Solo Jazz bootcamp day to prep your Lindy Hop season. We're inviting renowned Katie Cobalt over to Groningen, and together with our local solo hero John you'll get 5 hours of Solo Jazz classes on Sunday 3 September. Here are key details: - 2 groups: A & B, descriptions below - Times: ca. 11:00-16:30h classes (including a break) - Social dance afterwards with DJ from 16:30-18:00h - Location: Muziekorganisatie Noord, Bieslookstraat 23, Groningen - Cost: €60,- [Group A gets an EARLY BIRD price of €50,- UNTIL and including 24 August] The early bird price is only for Group A and it's to encourage sign-ups for those less experienced in Solo Jazz. GROUP DESCRIPTIONS GROUP A: This group is for the dancers who are just starting their Solo Jazz journey This group is for you if: You are eager to get a wider vocabulary and confidence in Solo dancing on Jazz music. You have attended classes a few classes at Sugarspin or elsewhere, but would like to have a refresher. You know some basic Jazz moves but don’t feel comfortable using/combining them yet. You've learned some classic routines such as the Shim Sham, but you don't feel comfortable yet to do them on your own or don't remember the whole choreography. You are looking to expand your Solo Jazz dancing and want to try some new moves and combinations. GROUP B: This group is for the dancers who have more experience with dancing Solo Jazz. This group is for you if: You have a solid knowledge of Jazz vocabulary. Moves such as Shorty George, Tacky Annie, Fall of the Log e.g. are familiar to you. You know some classic routines such as Shim Sham, Mama’s stew, Jitterbug Stroll etc. You are comfortable doing routines and juicy combinations. You practice your Solo dancing and would like to work on your improvisational skills. You are up for a challenge and are looking forward to push your Solo dancing to the next level.
