WORKSHOPS (Friday 16th March): SALSA MUSICALITY: 7.30 – 9.30 Musicality: Learning what to listen for in cuban salsa music and how this relates to how we dance. Discover more about the instruments used and the different rhythms involved in different styles of salsa. Venue: to be confirmed on registration WORKSHOPS (SATURDAY 17th March): INTENSIVE KIZOMBA BOOTCAMP: Learn this captivating partner dance that is taking the world by storm. Kizomba is known for its highly technical lead and follow technique, mesmerizing music and sensual body movement. This Bootcamp is the perfect way to kick-start your dancing as Manuel & Florencia take you through the essentials to get your Kizomba dancing up and running right away. Please note that you must do the first 2 hours to participate in the afternoon workshops. Some of the topics covered include: 1. Lead and follow techniques 2.. Posture and body movement 3. Social combinations 4. Dance floor etiquette 5. Introduction to Semba and Tarraxina Times: 10.00-12.00 Kizomba Lunch (60 minutes) 1.00-3.00 Kizomba SATURDAY 17th March Salsa Party at the Launceston Workers Club Time: 8-12pm Cost: $10.00/person or Free with full workshop pass WORKSHOPS (Sunday 18th March): Cuban Salsa: Work on some cool combinations for partner dancing as we explore Cuban Salsa Partnerwork techniques. Learn how to incorporate Cuban flavour, body movement and footwork into your dancing as well as how to hone your leading and following. Finish of with some crazy, fun Rueda moves! Times: 10.00-11.30 Cuban Salsa partner work techniques and combinations (Intermediate) Break ( 15 minutes) 11.45am-1.15pm Rueda party moves (open - knowledge of basic rueda moves required) VENUE: Launceston Workers Club, Elizabeth Street, Launceston.
