Enjoy a whole weekend of Latin Dance workshops, artists, parties, bands, DJs and beachside fun - all this and more in the exclusive resort town of Portsea on the iconic Mornington Peninsula! Enrol in one of Candela’s intensive 6 week Performance Courses (suitable for all dance levels) now and be a part of the action! 2012 was an amazing year for Candela's performance teams, who featured at many prestigious national Latin Dance events such as Sydney Cuban Salsa Congress, Sydney International Bachata Festival, Portsea Summer Latin Festival, Byron Latin Fiesta plus successful Melbourne events such as Johnston Street Hispanic Fiesta, The Latin Club, Ataca & Alemana (USA) Melbourne Bachata Tour and Albir & Sara (Spain) Melbourne Kizomba Tour, all to overwhelmingly popular audience response! 2013 will see an even BIGGER variety of Latin Dance styles and levels being offered: • Cuban Salsa (Rueda de Casino) - Suitable for Beginner through to Intermediate students, ideal for first time performers! • Advanced Cuban Salsa (Rueda de Casino) – for the serious Cuban Salsa (Casino) dancer! • Bachata/Kizomba (Partnered) – a smooth fusion of these two sensual dance styles • Reggaeton/Cuban Salsa Shines – Danced solo as part of a team Performing is a fantastic way to improve your dancing and hone your performance skills. You will fast track your dancing level and work on areas such as technique, flexibility, body movement, stage presence, memorization and musicality. At the completion of your training and performance you will obtain a great sense of achievement and satisfaction! There will also be further opportunities to perform the choreographies at other events around Melbourne and Australia in 2013! PERFORMANCE COURSE DETAILS: All courses commence Saturday 19 January 2013 and are 6 weeks in duration. Course Venue: Clyde Street Community Centre, 64 Clyde Street, Thornbury (except dress rehearsal on Tue 19 Feb will be held at Copacabana, 139 Smith St Fitzroy) Dates: • Saturday 19 January • Saturday 26 January • Saturday 2 February • Saturday 9 February • Saturday 16 February • Tuesday 19 February (Dress rehearsal) 6:30pm – 7:30pm Times (all dates except 19 Feb): All sessions times to be confiremed (between 10:00am and 2:00pm) Performance Requirements: • Available to attend all Performance Courses sessions (see above). Course fee(s) payable upon commencement of course. • Available to attend and perform at the Portsea Summer Latin Festival (22 - 24 February 2013) • Must attend one of Candela’s weekly dance classes for the duration of the performance course (additional cost, discounts applicable) • Purchase a Portsea Summer Latin Festival Performers Pass ($315) directly from Candela Dance Productions.
