About this Event

Welcome to a new weekend in the spirit of Casa da Tone. My weekends are made to spread love, fun, knowledge and respect for authentic kizomba/semba and the culture behind these beautiful dances. About our guest teachers Kirsi van Sol I know her from Portugal/Angola. I travelled in her group to Angola the two first times I was there. She knows everyone worth knowing there and was the best guide to know kizomba/semba in Angola. Read more : Kirsi has been a kizomba teacher since 2011 and has been leading trips to Angola since 2017, allowing students to experience the dance at its roots. She has taught students who have gone on become famous teachers worldwide, and she is the first white person who has taught kizomba in Angola, to Angolans. She collaborates continuously with Angolan champions and top artists to bring you the information and knowledge straight from the source, building a bridge between you and the Angolan culture – making it easier for you to learn and understand this rich heritage. In May 2024, Kirsi was invited to share her experiences at the inaugural conference of the Original Kizomba Association in Angola, where she received an award for her contributions to promoting Angolan culture and tourism, which she regards as her “Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.” Her teaching emphasises musicality and the interpretation of music through the body. To facilitate this, she breaks down the physical techniques of dance from a biomechanical perspective, enabling students to fine-tune and fully utilise their instrument. If you have a possibility to take a private class with her, do. She is awsome Sebastien Azais From Toulouse France It is not very often I prefer to watch people dancing instead of being on the dance floor myself. But watching this guy dance is just breath taking. His musicality, technique, presence and playfulness in the dance is amazing. Really looking forward to have him here with us. More info : His personality, as generous as his beard, makes him a much-loved teacher among his students, with a detailed teaching style that allows each student to master even the most complex steps and progress. A dancer from a young age, but also a boxer with stunning footwork, Sébastien Azaïs, known as "Seb_Semba," one day fell completely in love with lusophones sounds and decided to devote his boundless energy to dancing kizomba and semba. His efforts led him to become 3rd in France's kizomba category in 2014 and a world finalist in Africadançar in 2015
