Hello everyone, how are you?🫂 I’d like to say thank you to those who come regularly and bring their questions and curiosities. What truly nourishes a practice is coming together and actually practicing. We are genuinely happy to be creating, together, a space to try things out, discuss, and search through listening, experimentation, and curiosity. Next Monday we’ll have the visit of Amanda and Sergio, two dancers, friends, and very dear teachers. If there’s something they inspire and bring to tango, it’s connection and playfulness (I’m leaving a video link below). They’ll be giving us a mini class at 8:00 pm focused on improvisation. With the premise that improvisation can be trained, they’ll share specific tools to help develop this skill. Both roles will work on their listening, as well as on determination and clarity when communicating their dance. Tango dance as a dialogue, rather than a monologue. Their work is grounded in the embrace and improvisation, supported by rigorous technique and a contemporary understanding of movement. For over six years, they have developed a partnership that treats tango not as choreography, but as a living system of communication between two bodies. Based in Buenos Aires, they are certified instructors of the Dinzel System and active teachers at Estudio Dinzel and the Centro Educativo de Tango de Buenos Aires (CETBA), where they also train future tango instructors. Their background spans social dance, stage work, tango-dance productions, live music collaborations, and audiovisual projects. Their teaching focuses on structure, clarity, and choice. Technique is not an aesthetic goal, but a tool for freedom and precise improvisation. Classes emphasize listening, decision-making, and real partner dialogue, challenging dancers to move beyond habits and empty formulas. Each class is shaped to the students in the room, their experience, and their capacity to engage with tango as an evolving practice.
