CUBAN SALSA WORKSHOPS These special workshops are being offered for BEGINNING & INTERMEDIATE level students for the popular and fun dance style CASINO RUEDA! These workshops will break down techniques needed for both levels. WORKSHOPS: SATURDAY, JANUARY 27th Pre-Register by calling: $15 Door: $18 BEGINNING 1:00-2:00 pm *No experience or partner needed. In this workshop, we will focus on learning the basic steps & calls so you can dance with friends in a circle as well as individually with a partner. Learn how to understand the music and how to dance to it Learn techniques on how to lead and follow Learn BASIC steps & calls of Cuban Salsa Learn how to dance in a circle or "wheel" formation with other dancers Lastly... learn how this dance creates a sense of "community" and "family" among dancers and experience the FUN for yourself INTERMEDIATE 2:00-3:00 pm *Instructor approval required to attend In this workshop, we will focus on a continuation of your basic knowledge as well as move forward with more advanced techniques and patterns. Focus will be on: Connection with your partner Timing and musicality Intermediate- advanced figures Better understanding of signals Miguel is a dynamic salsa instructor and performer currently teaching in Portland Oregon. He started his dancing career in Mexicali BC. developing his salsa skills with famous teachers from Cuba, Mexico, Europe and the US. After moving to the Bay Area he trained with amazing salsa teams such as Salsa Rueda Vale Todo as well as Royland Lobato & Co. He has participated in several performances across the West Coast individually and with his salsa team, Hot Timba. Miguel continues to train and learn the newest styles and techniques from top Cuban coaches.
