CaziKe Auditions

It's that time of year again! Join Washington, D.C.'s longest running and largest latin dance performance training program. Over the past 10 years, we've brought over 250 dancers from the studio to the stage. You could be one of them! The ClaveKazi teams are designed for those that wish to elevate their dancing to performance quality. The student team is designed for those with at least two years of on1 experience who are looking to transition to on2, or those with a year of on2 experience. Their focus is on building strong technique for social dancing and performance, and local performance opportunities, including the D.C. Salsa Congress. Our semi-professional team, CaziKe, is designed for those with at least two years of on2 experience, who are comfortable with the fundamentals of on2 advanced partnerwork, including multiple spins. The training team performs both locally and nationally, including at the D.C. Salsa Congress in June. Select members of CaziKe are also part of our exhibition team. In addition to taking a leadership role with the studio teams, the dancers travel to perform and have opportunities for local paid gigs. All level and ages of students are welcome to make the commitment to learning. We won't lie to you; it's not easy! You will be drilled on spinning technique, memorizing choreography, footwork, floor movement, partnerwork and presentation. Team members are developed into confident performers and excellent social dancers. At the end of the session, students are given the option to perform the routine at least twice. This season, teams will perform at the D.C. Salsa Congress as well as prepare for several other events. While not everyone ends up performing, all students find the training to be a rewarding experience. You think you can handle it?
