Southern Cross Tango is delighted to be hosting Cecilia Gonzalez during her 2023 Australian tour. Cecilia’s elegance and precision in her dance is remarkable. She is a highly sought-after teacher and performer of tango, in tango festivals and congresses around the world. Her extensive knowledge and warm teaching style inspires the very best out of her students. She is a member of the teaching faculty of Argentine International Tango Congress (C.I.T.A), held annually in Buenos Aires. TANGO PROGRAM • Friday 26 May, 7pm – 8pm: CONNECT and IMPROVISE / Developing a sensitive dance (All levels) • Friday 26 May, 8pm – 9.30pm (1hr 30m): CREATING AND FILLING THE SPACE WITH SMALL TURNS (All levels) • Saturday 27 May, 1pm – 2.30pm: FLUID TANGO exchange roles for all (All levels) • Saturday 27 May, 2.45pm – 4.15pm: Learning to let go with SOLTADAS (Inter/Adv) • Sunday 28 May, 1pm – 2.30pm: SACADAS FOR WOMEN AND MEN Exploring Possibilities (Inter/Adv) • Sunday 28 May, 2.45pm – 4.15pm: BOLEOS TECHNIQUE and combinations (inter/Adv) Social Dancing Events: La Calesita Milonga - Saturday 27 May, 8pm – 11pm at Henley Sailing Club – 1 Seaview Rd, West Beach ($20pp) Practica Lunes – Monday 29 May 2023, 8pm – 9.30pm – An opportunity to practice and consolidate your learning, at Unley RSL ($5pp) Booking and prices: We recommend registering with a dance partner as we will try to keep an even ratio of leaders/followers in classes. If numbers are out of balance you may go onto a waiting list unless you enrol as a couple. During the workshops we’ll change partners regularly. If you enrol as a single, we ask you to swap each rotation. If you enrol as a couple, you can elect to stay together or swap around. Workshop cost (90 minute workshop)= $30pp / $60 couple per workshop *Friday night 7pm workshop (60 mins) = $25pp/$50 couple.
