About this Event
Come and drum, parade, dance and celebrate the longest day of the year with us in beatiful Santa Barbara! Samba Da Mudança will be joining forces with Mariano Silva & Brazilian Cultural Arts Center, King Theo + Samba Funk, plus special guest Tonho Materia (of popular bands Araketu & Olodum, direct from Salvador Brazil) in a fantastic parade, party and celebration! There is also a whole day of dance and capoeira workshops happening in SB on Sunday the 26th as part of this event!
We start with a fantastic parade down State Street. The Solstice Celebration is a combination of Carnaval, Burning Man and Cirque Du Soleil! At the end of the parade there is a big music festival with bands, DJ's, food, etc.
Then in the afternoon we'll have an afterparty and Solstice Samba Queen Competition at Tony Ray's (location in De La Guerra Plaza) featuring Prakantar Band, Samba da Mudanca batucada, Bikini fashion show, Brazilian Food & Drinks and samba & capoeira performances. This is sure to be an unforgettable event!
