~ Mar 20th ~ CLASS 6-7:30pm JAM 7:30-9pm -- START TIME -- Class starts promptly at 6pm, so please arrive before to allow time for check-in. -- ENTRANCE FEE -- $20 for the whole night, whether you go to the class and/or jam. -- ACCESSIBILITY -- A discount of 50% is available for marginalized peoples, such as BIPOC and LGTBQIA+ folx and those who are experiencing financial hardship..... or pay what you can; NOTAFLOF. CLASS DESCRIPTION Falling & Flying - Miss Gravity Force is inviting you on a date. She wants to ignite your curiosity to surrender to your own weight. And with that, teach you how to, as effortlessly as you can, fall and catch, fall and flow, fall and fly. So she can dance you... ABOUT THE FACILITATOR João started improvising in contact in the mid 2000's in their homeland, Brazil, and has been exploring and sharing somatic movement for over 20 years. Finding playful and attuned ways to instill a 'less ambition, more curiosity' mindset in other dancers was João's greatest inspiration to start facilitating CI. For more of their somatic offerings, visit: www.basayoga.com ACCESSIBILITY Being in the upstairs dance loft at Soft Medicine, we want to let folks know there is also an elevator at the back of the building, for anyone who needs that to get to the 2nd floor (though it involves considerably more walking). This is an indoor venue. Masks are optional. Anyone under age 18 is asked to attend with a guardian, and/or email us first to discuss. CLOTHING REQUEST If you are prone to saturating your clothes with sweat while dancing, please bring 1 or 2 changes of clothes - for the consideration of others. Please don't wear strong fragrances. MUSIC Sometimes the jam will have some pre-recorded music, sometimes we'll make sounds ourselves and some of the time it will be silent.
