Official Announcement:
Latin American communities throughout Victoria come together to celebrate in true Latin American passion, the country that is Colombia & to pay homage to a place that makes Latin America amazing.
Colombia declared independence from Spain in July 1810 and achieved it in 1819. Regional cultural traditions can be diverse; groups can be classified into six regions: amazonica, andina, caribe, insular, Orinoquia and Pacifica. Only during elections, sporting events, and beauty pageants do the regional cultures unite for a common goal or party ... or to celebrate the anniversary of independence from Spain!
A special festival style celebration at the convenient location of the Collingwood Town Hall’ on July 21st, 2018 means all of Melbourne have the chance to be a part of this Latin American experience.
