Community Shim Sham and Tranky Doo - Roaring Raleigh Lawn Party

Triangle dancers - if you know the Shim Sham and/or the Tranky Doo, you are cordially invited to the Roaring Raleigh Lawn Party to share your gifts with the larger community and join in a community Shim Sham and Tranky Doo. Nothing fancy, just do what you normally do when you hear the music for both of these songs, get on the dance floor and shake it with your friends. Tranky Doo is at 1:25 p.m. Shim Sham is at 3:30 p.m. This is a great event for us to do some community outreach and show people the vibrant swing dance community that exists in the Triangle - all you have to do is show up and dance! There will be a wooden dance floor and, if that is full, there will be space in the grass in front of the dance floor. Please also keep in mind that some of our tap dancer friends, the Triangle Youth Tap Ensemble, may also be joining us in the Shim Sham (they share this dance with us!) and to give them priority over the wooden dance floor space if the dance floor gets full.
