Her background includes ballet, jazz, samba, tap, and West African dance, as well as yoga, hula hoop, and circus training. She discovered Argentine Tango at the beginning of 2011 and has been primarily devoted to the intensive study of this captivating dance ever since. As her passion and dedication for Argentine Tango grew, she started to assist world-renowned dancer and teacher Daniel Trenner and became his apprentice. Since then, she has spent much of her time traveling to tango festivals and other communities to continue to learn from multiple teachers and grow as a dancer. She has taught and performed in Western Massachusetts and around the Northeast and is currently involved in organizing dance events and retreats. Cyla holds a Masters Degree in Education and brings her additional experience and skills as a professional educator to her approach to teaching Argentine Tango. Brian Spellman has been dancing Argentine Tango since 2013. First as a student of Daniel Trenner’s in Western MA and later as a teacher in one of the US’s premier Tango scenes located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Brian pursued further studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and then returned to Western MA to continue his apprenticeship with Daniel Trenner and is now studying intensively with artist-in-residence, Laura Grandi. Come and meet Brian and enjoy his unabashed enthusiasm for Argentine Tango!
