Contact Imrpov Class and Jam with Barbara Berti The class aim is to explore contact improvisation as a state of consciousness. We will work with practices that are coming from the method ‘Choreography of thinking’,a research that she developed the last five years. She will share ‘The tactile attention’ tool, with the use of gaze (visible eyes) and attention (invisible eyes). This method guide throughout different states of mind and open the awareness between the inner, outer and middle space, which are co-existing in solo dance, group, contact improvisation and performance. The ability to equalizing the attention of your own physical body, the external space, the partner for the distribution of weight and effortless lifts. We will slowly build the external attention, into the physical body, through the awareness of the eyes and the gaze. Building a multi layer web, within our physical body, and observing the movement of our gaze and attention to bring it into physicality. The class explores improvised movements in solo, duo trio, and group constellations.
