Contact Improv Class w guest Cathie Caraker

Join us for contact improvisation dance with an hour long beginner class with Jones Welsh at the ARC in Pasadena! Normally we have a brief warm up but on this night will be a full introduction to Contact Improvisation concepts and fundamentals. After the class, the room will open up to open jamming. Cathie Caraker is a dance artist and teacher based in San Francisco. Her performance work and teaching have been presented at festivals, dance institutes and theaters across Europe and the US and she was on the faculty of the Amsterdam School for the Arts (SNDO) for 10 years. She is a teacher of Body-Mind Centering® and holds an MFA in Dance from Bennington College. She has collaborated with artists including Katarina Eriksson, Ray Chung, Nancy Stark Smith, Meredith Monk, David Hurwith, Rosemary Hannon and Henry Kaiser.
