Fall to Move ::: The comfort of falling (using techniques of 'Drunken Master' in co-relation with Gravity, Space and Time) Saturday 8th June 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Sunday 9th June 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. @ vishram hainee above gatheround restaurant. 1000/- Rs for both days ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Working with the Contact Improvisation principles of gravity, momentum, and touch to ensemble improvisation into FALLING & MOVEMENT . We will start at zero to connect to our bodies, our interest, and intuition and move on to building trust in the capability of our bodies. We will visit basic Contact Improvisation skills of controlling the fluidity of one's body, as well as practice partnering, spiraling, flying, catching and landing. The workshop is focused on exploration of the self. Using techniques that adapt principles of physics, which ultimately helps in understanding one's own body in how to fall safely, controlling the weight of the body, moving in fluid movements and being one with the surroundings. Working with these contact improvisation principles, we build the value of the same in your day-to-day living! Open to all levels, no previous movement experience needed. BRING - Water bottle - Preferably long trousers and shirt - Your curious self! ABOUT CONTACT IMPROVISATION A form of dance based on exploring one's own body in relation to others by using the fundamentals of physical movement and focusing the attention on present moment. It invites to enter from intuition, sensitivity, curiosity, playfulness, and connection in movement with others. ABOUT FACILITATOR Amitya Sasidharan - Primarily a dancer, before becoming a practioner of Contact Improvisation. His curiosity about embracing different artforms that pushes the limits of the body, has brought him to the practice of Contact Improvisation 6 years ago. Since then, he has been involved in enabling concepts of fluidity of the body, into its form. He is part of 'Contact Improv India Organisation', which focuses on spreading Contact Improvisation around and making it accessible to anyone.
