About this Event

CONTACT IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP The tactile attention in contact improvisation and the dance of integration 13th 14th February The workshop aims to explore contact improvisation as a state of consciousness. We will work with practices that are coming from the method ‘Choreography of thinking’,a research that she developed the last five years; and the ‘integration’ method which I use for therapeutic individual sessions and is part of her last ongoing choreographic research. From the method ‘Choreography of thinking’, she will share ‘The tactile attention’ tool, with the use of gaze (visible eyes) and attention (invisible eyes). This method guide throughout different states of mind and open the awareness between the inner, outer and middle space, which are co-existing in solo dance, group, contact improvisation and performance. The ability to equalizing the attention of your own physical body, the external space, the partner for the distribution of weight and effortless lifts. We will slowly build the external attention, into the physical body, through the awareness of the eyes and the gaze. Building a multi layer web, within our physical body, and observing the movement of our gaze and attention to bring it into physicality. Later in the workshop we will explore the ‘Integration’ method into dance and movement research, a tool to explore creative and organic ways of improvising, connect with the body for intuitive decision making, interact with space and partners. The class explores improvised movements in solo, duo trio, and group constellations. 10th - 11th February The integration time workshop, is a continuation of this exploration in dance and contact improvisation, together with an individual sessions and she will be available during the two days. Up to two individual sessions, available on request and depending on the individual need. Parallel to the ongoing individual sessions, the dance space offer tools of integration to bring the session into a movement. The two days are guided by Barbara Berti and Jovair Longo, guiding the process of dancing with your new being integrated and supported by the research of the Tactile attention. Some words about the integration method (for further questions, please contact Barbara on face book or mail [email protected] Integration is a method created in it's peculiar and highly effective way from Barbara Berti, through research in the attention, cognitive psychology and choreographic research. In the session, the person recognizes the identifications of the ego structures (from childhood, from the mind, from the self/ego) and at the same time make it emerge through the body the real presence and being of a person (real nature), which is connected to bodily sensation. This therapy erases the ongoing sense of lack and emptiness that each human being experiences in life, together with blocks and limitations. The integration is the embodiment of yourself, your being, which is not just the ego structure.
