Contact Improvisation Workshop and Jam - Jaipur

Come and experience the joy of improvising and moving together !! 2 DAYS Contact Improvisation Workshop- Exploration- with Kamakshi and Hari Who is it for? Anyone and everyone with a body!! Dancers, non-dancers, movement enthusiasts, artists, facilitators, curious explorers with an interest in knowing the body, connecting, moving freely, communicating with others and improvising in the moment!! Anyone with a body and a curios mind!! Come play with us!! This workshop is not limited to any age or physical ability. Followers and leaders, all you need is an open heart to explore movements within your body. Sat & Sun 10:30 am to 1:00 pm (Morning session) 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Class) 5:30 pm to 7 pm Jam *Jam is Open to all and is included for the workshop participants. CI is a lot of fun- playing and exploring the possibilities of two bodies in space in relation to the physical laws of Gravity, force, momentum and sharing weight. It can be really slow and meditative or it can be really athletic and fast. There is no strong definition but just a framework for exploration. It involves a lot of listening and being aware of the body and the surroundings, heightening of senses to move in the space and at the same time the improvisation aspect of the form makes it a play full of curiosity, going into the unknown territory and embracing what emerges in time and space in the moment. It is an improvisation dance form, an awareness practice, a movement therapy and much much more. What will happen in this workshop? In this workshop we will create a container to explore the basic principles of CI, which include deep listening using all our senses, understanding gravity and momentum through bodies, exploring how we relate to others and our surroundings and sometimes rolling and being upside-down. Followed by a led jam where we play, practise and explore the material for the workshop. The jam will be open to people outside the workshop and musicians are welcome to get in touch and collaborate to make some music magic for the jam!! Contribution: 2 days - INR 1,600 1 day - Lets discuss :) We highly recommend the participation to be throughout the 2 days and in all the sessions so that we can go through this journey together as a group.
